Terms and Conditions for our public events
Thank you for your interest in our events!
The Haberdash company is based in Preston, Lancashire.
We aim to create and provide bespoke events and entertaining experiences for the public.
We do this through creating events ourselves to further promote our actors and props, as well as being available for hire for film/photo media and as theatrical event coordinators.
The following may be subject to change.
If we are contracted to create a public event, this will be stated in the event description - ticketing will be handled by the client, as will any issues you may wish to address.
At an event if you wish to speak to a member of The Haberdash staff not in character for any reason, look for the blue "Wear Goggles Guy" pin badge. This member of staff will not be in character and is on site to help with any queries or handle any issues that have arisen.
Should a matter of immediate concern arise, you may approach any member of staff at any time. Please clearly and calmly explain you are seeking to speak regarding an immediate subject, and not in character.
Etiquette:
The Haberdash events welcome all, and encourage folks of all ages, interests and backgrounds to come and see what our shows are all about.
As such, we ask frequent event attendees to be mindful of others. There's no right or wrong way to attend an event for the first time, even if the event has a theme. All are welcome and we do not exclude someone for not buying a mask for a masquerade.
We also ask all attendees to remember people are out for a personal event experience. They may be happy to be photographed or interviewed, however it is polite to ask first, and accept a decline graciously if that is the case. We take complaints very seriously and will remove people if they prove themselves a nuisance to patrons or staff.
Please do not stop performers from doing their job. They may be photographed and filmed without being asked, however they may not give interviews - especially during a live performance night. Nor will they break character!
Performers are trained and all simulated fights are choreographed - these will be performed away from reach of public. Do not attempt to interfere, involve yourself or step-in. This is not only for the sake of the performance, but for everyone's safety.
Theatrics:
Please be advised - some performances may involve loud noises (such as caps for stage guns), lights, lasers, audience sweeping, strobe or similar.
If you have any concerns about an event, do not hesitate to contact us at The.Haberdash@gmail.com to get up to date information on if an event has anything that may cause you or a fellow attendee concerns.
Regarding lasers, we will note on the event listing and facebook event page if we intend to involve these, and in what fashion (where appropriate). There will also be notice at the event before entry.
Right to service:
It is our aim to create welcoming, friendly atmospheres at our events, and above all a sense of security.
As such we reserve the right to refuse service or to request any one causing distress to our customers to leave.
Likewise, our event venue hosts reserve this right, and the right to refuse service of alcohol at their discretion.
The Haberdash does not run or handle any bar elements or venue's own security.
Our events are often catered for a bar, and actors may portray characters of an adult nature. As such we must note The Haberdash runs events predominantly for 18+.
Some of our performers own CRBs. As such if The Haberdash is hired by a third party for an event, they may have an open age policy. Individual event listings will have more information on this as appropriate. If there is no further information, it is safe to assume the event is 18+ either due to the option of alcohol service or adult themes in the event.
Props:
Attendees to our events often come in character/costume themselves - and that's wonderful!
All we ask is you consider the comfort and safety of other attendees in preparing your costume. Ensure there's no sharp points or hazards, and if your costume is large (wings, bustles, jet packs etc), please be considerate of other's space - especially on the dance floor!
The Haberdash cannot take responsibility for any items, clothing, accessories, props etc that are brought to an event.
We often offer a cloakroom option, which is secure and private from the public. Otherwise, please be aware that though we will help to check for any misplaced items if we are able to, all items are brought to events at the attendee's own risk of damage/loss.
We operate a zero tolerance policy on any live weaponry.
Though we appreciate many of our customers wish to attend in costume/character, we must ask you respect ours and our venue hosts wishes for safety and law.
This means strictly no blank firing weapons, weapons that may be mistaken for modern firearms and no live blades (sharpened metal in any form of knife, sword or similar).
LARP items, plastic models and denix replicas are examples of items that are acceptable.
Any body that is found to be carrying a real bladed item will be asked to hand it in for safety. If deemed necessary, depending on the item (such as concealed weapons/sword canes etc) the police may be contacted for appropriate removal.
Tickets:
If you wish to attend an event, you can purchase tickets on the door of the venue, via our website's paypal link or from shops local to the area (see event listings for details of which shops are involved in promotion).
Tickets are non-refundable - however, tickets may be considered transferable. If you are unable to attend an event you have purchased a ticket for you are welcome to offer to sell it via the event page for the same value it was purchased for from The Haberdash. However, The Haberdash will not be involved in any private re-selling/moderation. As such we only recommend this to be a matter between people that know each other and trust one another.
In the unlikely event of cancellation of an event, all tickets purchased through The Haberdash will be refunded - in full - within a month of notice of cancellation. Proof of purchase will be necessary if purchased via means other than paypal.
We understand that if an event is cancelled you will want your refund as soon as possible, and though this is done with reasonable speed via paypal purchases, physical tickets may take a few days longer.
